What you should know about auto insurance claims during COVID-19.
We are living in challenging and strange times. As we all find ways to cope with the new ways of living and shopping, the insurance industry is doing the same. Tompkins Insurance is actively aiding clients and staying up-to-date with the latest industry advice and regulations. If you get into an accident during this time, here is what you should know about car insurance claims.
As always, we are here for you 24/7
Our Customer Care Center is staffed by insurance professionals 24/7 now and always. Claims can be reported in NY at 1-888-261-2688 and in PA at 1-888-601-2611, or on our website at www.TompkinsIns.com.
The appraisal of damages
Prior to the pandemic, auto appraisers would visit your home or auto body shop to view the damage to your car and provide appraisals. However, this practice is understandably on hold. Instead, you may be asked to submit photos of your vehicle for an appraiser to view online. When taking pictures, be as thorough as you can, taking photos and videos from different angles. The more visuals you can provide, the better!
Communicating with us
As your trusted insurance advisor, our job, as always, is to make the claim process run as smoothly as possible. Although we are not physically located in offices, we are just a phone call away. Call our Customer Care Center or your advisor with any questions you may have throughout the claims process.
